MASHONALAND CENTRAL PROVINCE

It is an office under the Office of the President and cabinet, (OPC) created to run the affairs of the province in line with the devolution agenda. The Devolution and Decentralisation Policy elaborates on the Constitutional imperatives of bringing governance closer to communities and make it more accessible as a way of enhancing responsiveness, accountability and participatory governance over local development priorities. The Mashonaland Central Province  is situated in the North-Eastern part of Zimbabwe. Borders Mozambique, Zambia, Mashonaland East Province, Mashonaland West Province and Harare. It is the administrative capital of the province which has eight (8) districts and ten (10) local authorities with a total area of 28, 347km2 hectares with a total population of 1,384,891.  However, the offices of the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland Central Province are currently housed at Mutungagore Government Complex, 567 Thurlows Avenue, Bindura.
